Local Facilities
Weymouth has a wealth of quality independent restaurants, Bistros, traditional pubs and teashops to suit all tastes and budgets, and with delicious food and drink on the menu. From fish and chips on the Harbour side to light snacks, 3 course meals or Fine dining. On a warmer evening there are plenty of places offering Alfresco Dining around the Harbour to soak up the atmosphere.
You will find plenty of locally caught fish and seafood on many menus and different restaurants serving cuisines from around the world.
Many pubs around Weymouth also offer excellent food, try the Ship Inn on the harbour, the Nothe Tavern for a traditional English Sunday carvery. For cider try The Stables above the Harbour Master which specialises in cider, tasty Pies and Pizzas. If it’s Real Ales and real fires you can look out for The Globe just off the harbour or, the Boot Inn tucked away on the other side of the harbour. This is allegedly the oldest and most haunted pub in the town, established in 1346, you can even take a smuggling and haunted tour from here if your dare!
You’ll find not just a choice of restaurant but location too, with restaurants just a few moments stroll away from the Seaham in town centre locations, on the picturesque harbour side or the beautiful Hope Square. Not forgetting the nearby town of Dorchester just a short train ride away where you will find the new Brewery Square packed with familiar named Eateries or even Sienna the award winning Michelin star restaurant.
Unfortunately we don’t get chance to visit all of these restaurants on a regular basis but we do our best! So to keep up to date with the new and the best we listen to what our guests are saying about them and are always happy to chat to you about what’s on offer and help you make a choice.

During the day you’ll be spoilt for choice for tearooms around the local area, in some of Dorset’s most beautiful locations, not to mention the seafront cafes, and traditional tea shops in town. You won’t be able to resist the fantastic choices to tempt you. Our favourite is Dorset Apple Cake served warm with clotted cream it literally melts in the mouth. Try The Curve or The Tea Bush on the Seafront, Muffins tucked away in St Albans Street, Sophia’s in town or Time for Tea just off Hope square. Or if you’re out and about don’t miss the teashop at Abbotsbury Sub tropical Gardens, the Lobster Pot at Portland Bill (Great in any weather) or the outdoor cafe at Sandsfoot Garden, for a well-deserved treat if you decide to venture onto the Rodwell trail.
Finally don’t miss the amazing local West Country ice cream with amazing choice of flavours one just won’t be enough!
